The formula is simple — Percentage = (Marks Obtained ÷ Total Marks) × 100 — but the interpretation of the result varies significantly across examination boards, universities, and institutions. In Pakistan's matriculation (Class 9 and 10) system, passing requires a minimum of 33% in most boards. For FSc (Class 11 and 12), the minimum pass mark is typically 40%.
